Research Interests: Prejudice & Discrimination, Social Justice, Sustainability, Political Economy, PowerRelations.

Graduation Thesis:

During my last year of high school, I started to become highly interested in social inequality issues. My final project in high school discussed the history and current situation of Native Americans in the United States. At that moment, for the first time, I truly learned that humanities may not always be as good intended as they sometimes present themselves; this resulted in my ever growing interest in critical theories. Therefore, my research focuses on a variety of topics ranging from feminism to racism, postcolonialism, hegemony, and so forth.

 

What I do for Sustainability: 

After becoming aware in 2013 that the human race is causing a significant impact on the environment, I was determined to take a stance for sustainability and climate justice. After changing my own habits, such as becoming vegetarian and restricting myself to second-hand clothing, I wanted to step up my game and connect with others that are passionate about the environment. Next to being a member of SEA, I participate in environmental events, clean up events, and I like to engage with people that are unfamiliar with sustainability.

Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in European Studies from The Hague University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands.
